I know it's been 3 years since this video but if you still have the car could you do a tutorial on mini tubbing the I want to do mine but don't know where to start
Hello! Man before the UA-cam I was on forums posting. Its still out there! Not "step by step" but shows my progress. I was in the same boat, and tackled this never doing it prior. www.fordmuscleforums.com/threads/mini-tubbing-the-69.506860/
Cool truck, Looking forward to seeing more of it. Lykins Motorsports here on YT has been dyno testing a 352FE. Little FE is making good power.
So is Connor gonna get the 86 gt or the ecoboost notch?🤷🏼♂️
We'll see. Likely not either "initially" for his first car that is. When hes old enough, he loves the blue car, if anything this will go to him, since he's been around since so little. BUT I will say he's fond of these old ford trucks too. When Im gone they will all go to him and my daughter (almost 25 years old)
Nice truck! It makes me happy to see someone who loves Fords as much as I do.
Excited to see you polish up those aluminum slots 👍 that's a great project truck man congrats
Thanks Tony! I am too. Im trying not to go full speed on this. Just necessities, like stopping and starting would be nice, but looking forward to either a satin clean cloat or shine juice on the patina and polishing the wheels.
What's another project when it's a bumpside! Nice find!
Nice truck… looking forward to seeing what your gonna do with it
Appreciate it. Looking forward to to it too, but dont want to lose focus on EgoBruise. Cheers!
Nice truck Dula, a little rubbing compound will get that ol-skool enamel shinning like new, no clear needed.🤠👍
Ive got plenty and I "ALMOST" went down that road last night, but figured getting if to run and stop to get it off the trailer is more important lol
Sweet truck
Great Video 👍thanks for the upload. Couple Q's If ur running the BIM module to the ODB do you still need a speedo cable? Also which readings/indicators DO NOT go through the ODB/BIM and have to be ran separately Thanks again👍
Good question. I'll answer this on what I believe, but you might want to call Dakota Digital to confirm. This depends on your ECU. If your ECU has a VSS (speed sensor) then the BIM will pick it up the PID and allow that as an option for the speedo input. My ECU is a ford control pack, so just enough to run the run, but nothing else, no trans control, or speed control. Most ECUs, factory will know its speed from the VSS and send that signal to the Speedo. This is true for all the readings that go through or cant go through the ODB/BIM. If the engine's computer reads it it, the BIM will read it, like Oil press, engine temp, tach, Air temp, boost etc... Things that typically don't go through an ECU...Fuel level, typically separate from the ECU and goes through its own harness, indicator lights like turn signals, bright's indicator..things like that. One thing I love is the Check Engine Light, when thrown on the ECU will throw it up on the dash like a modern car. There really is nothing of this caliber like this on the market that can so quickly and easily convert your classic to a modern instrument cluster.
@@HOUSEOFDULA thanks
Good job Connor🤠👍
Thanks for making this video Mike. I have to do the same thing to my 85. Gotta figure it’s roughly the same job.
Yeah its a bit more for 86/86. I have a heater core vid for my 86 but its old, AND I reaplced the whole damn thing on the 86 as well (more not so fun). I learned a little more since. getting the blower off helps and is easy. Its not all that bad...the same mounting spots though apply to the 85/86 as the '79.
Quick
Thank you so much for this information. As you said the instructions are seriously lacking so this really helped!
You bet! Glad it helps
Totally agree Anthony Jones is a suspension genius!
Hes a great guy. Great company IMO.
Great video! Removing my 86 dash now to replace evaporator, heater core and fan and paint. How did you get the plastic nut to release the headlight switch? I didn't want to break it and it looks like you may have used a screwdriver?
Yeah with that you need to get creative lol Usually not too tight, mine was pretty loose so a broad large flathead worked. They do make a tool for it, ive never used it though. If you have a large and broad enough screwdriver you can typically reach both sides of the indentions. That or you can try a coin.
@@HOUSEOFDULA thanks for the reply man! That is what I was thinking too but I didn't have a flat head quite wide enough. I was also thinking a rag and some vise grips but I don't want to scratch it or break it. Just need to break it loose...
Bro that's the kind of inspiration that I needed to get my fox fuel system finished up!! Thanks for this!!!
SWEET. Glad it can help someone out lol. I know this is a bit of a unique system being a 79-81. You are welcome! good luck with it.
@@HOUSEOFDULA what hanger are you using?
@@rickyberger458 So I cant confirm. I didnt buy the hanger. The tank came with it, but looks to be this one, if not, its extremely similar. www.highflowfuel.com/fuel-pump-hanger-oem-replacement-hfp-an50-h-0606-qfs/?sku=HFP-AN50-H-0606-BC&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwzIK1BhAuEiwAHQmU3tgBrVHSDrz_uN8nhw_Zr8S2Zl4DxogqO546lac2Y415eH4GmmoSTxoCPYAQAvD_BwE
What fuel pump hanger is that? I have a pro-m hanger and im thinking the -an fittings are both -6 but im not 100% certain on that...
Im not 100% certain since this came with the tank, but looks to be this one, if not similar to. www.highflowfuel.com/fuel-pump-performance-hfp-an525ft-0-qfs/ -8 is so overkill for a non-E85 4 cylinder. BUT at least It wont even under perform no matter what I throw at it.
I did the same tank swap on my ‘79, I had to “massage” 5$3 sheet metal with a hammer for the sump to sit up where it should. I read a lot of conflicting opinions on line but I my case I had to massage
So one issue I have is I cant stand back to look at the tanks "level" I think now after looking at it, after I posted the video, its lower where the sump is. I have a feeling massaging will need to be had as well. IDK if you massaged the tank itself of the body, I think i'll smack the sump corner a few times.
I massage the sheet metal of the car, the tank makes contact in the front and back of that opening iirc, so I had to hammer it upward to make a slight contour to allow the bigger “sump” upwards further
I really like them. I just bought chrome ones for my Harwood cowl.
Mine have faded a bit, turned a little "gold" like the finish is coming off, but otherwise no complaints. Chrome I think would be a better finish anyway.
I am definitely invested into this build, always look forward to your videos
Well I appreciate that and appreciate the patience with it. I know it’s s little slow moving.
That’s weird, my Explorer throttle body doesn’t have that elbow tube.
What year did yours come off of?
Why not just run the fuel pressure regulator in the rear of the car and just have one line going to the engine bay?
28:59 because weight savings😂👍
My son would say I YEETED it across the garage floor.
Check those rivets connections for the + - on the fuel hat, they are notorious for burning up, a good fix is a bulk head connector with the wires going straight thru
Yes they are aren’t they! I have not checked it, need to when i drop it to wire it next video
GOOD JOB DULA 🤠👍 24:16 Can you route that fuel line underneath the steel line? If so it could look stealthier.
Good call! Will try
First!!!🎉🎉🎉 another great video homie awesome to see stuff coming together
WHAT UP TOM! Thanks man
Congratulations on the property
Thank you sir!
Did the stoptech brake lines work?
Yes they will...just use the updated part number I posted. The ones in the video were too short. I still have not plumbed my brakes but the length is fine.
...and someone said Bidens economy was bad. Lol.
Congrats brother!! Looks great!!! Awesome job!!!
I'm currently in the middle of installing a turbo on my 91 GT and I was wondering how you were able to route you A/C lines. Any help would be greatly appreciated thank you.
Hello! go to houseofdula.com and click on "contact us" at the top. This will send me an email and I can reply back with photos that can help you out.
Hello Mike, I was wondering if you still had the manual clutch and brake pedal assembly? and if I can buy it from you. I really could use it for my mustang project if you're willing to sell it. Thank you Gary
Gary! Sorry bud, I think you hit me up a few times. I kept remember to go look, but I remember now right after the swap I local fox builder wanted it. It was gone pretty quickly. Didnt know folks needed the old 4 speed pedal assemblies. Sorry man. And really apologize for not getting back sooner.
Hey my man, where did you buy the calipers? great video thanks.
Whats up! Thank you, much appreciate it. I got them from LMR.com!
Congrats man, that is so awesome!
Thank you!
Love it! How do you like the manual transmission? What was your decision point on that over the hydrostatic transmission
I like it...it has an issue where it likes to pop out of gear. Might need to take it in, but the decision was for simplicity and durability....plus only tractors I've even been on were older non-hydrostatic ones. The John Deere 3025 hydrostatic (3025E I think) has an aluminum housing for trans and I think axle, so its a little lighter, but not stronger. The 3025D is all cast steel like a more traditional tractor. That and if something needs fixed hydrostatic is a bit more $$$ too. So nothing wrong it, I just dont mind shifting, and chose the simplicity factor.
@@HOUSEOFDULA Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience!! Greatly appreciate! Thanks for all your videos!!
Congratulations!!
Thank you!
FYI.....34:29 Weed killer is good if you want to cause a stinky fish kill in the pond. It will deplete the water of oxygen. Why not try stocking the pond with tilapia or carp. You can eat the tilapia and use carp as bait for big catfish.🤠👍 A few Billy goats chained up in strategic areas around the pond will devour all vegetation in days.
Oh yeah. I have no intention on putting any chemicals in that pont unless its 100% safe. We have the ducks and all kinds of wildlife I care for ;) The goats! lol that would do it. This new weed just started this year with all the rains, looks pretty and most likely with this heat hitting, it will start to slow down its growth. Thats interesting about carp and tilapia, I didnt know they were pond week killers.
@@HOUSEOFDULA I guess you don't fish much Dula. Yeah, tilapia and carp eat algae, grass and aquatic plants.
@@4eyefoxbodyfanclub625 NOPE! Not a huge fisherman. Like it, but never got really big into it.
🎉🎉🎉
Hey! Nice content, the HVAC has a blue film from factory, any bulb I put is going to use that blue plastic filter, how did you do it?
Thank you! Been I while. I thought that was covered in this vid, maybe not. Those bulb covers need to be snapped out carefully (likely will break from the light and age) but they clip out of the housing. Check 21:20 ish on the video
Keep the updates coming
Will do!
Man liked everything. 😊
Congrats! I'm jealous. Looks killer.
Im happy for you and your family, Mike. Very nice place to live and enjoy life. 👈💯
I appreciate that. Everyone is so positive here on the channel. Like one big family!
Love the new place. Looks like paradise.
To me it certainly is, to some it might not be lol
I see alot of these going up in texas..unfortunately I want one on the Guadalupe river..$$$$😅😅😅
Oh man, thats prime property! love that area. Floated that river many of times.
I would park all of the equipment further inside the building and move the camper into the 12 foot door section. That way it's protected from the elements and keeps it cooler (I mean, you ARE in Texas 🙂). Other than that, all I can say is DAMN, I'm jealous. This is almost exactly what I hope to have. I just want more trees (and less neighbors).
It was so sad to watch 50 some odd trees die right after purchasing it! They went through 2 brutal winters, and a horrible drought last summer, along with root rot from sitting in water. They had no chance...but I too love trees and wish we had more, hate seeing them go. But yes. More tree, less neighbors. I learned, at least in my place the same neighbor "issues" follow, they are just more spread out lol. Hell you have have 100 acres and still have those neighbors that complain lol. Luckily people who typically live out here do so to keep to themselves. The camper is toast...its only 4 years old and looks 20 years old from sun damage. That large pad on the side of the end of the building is for the camper, and has plates in the concrete to weld a cover on it in the future. We just needed to "stop" somewhere or your budget will snowball.
This is awesome congratulations
Congrats Mike!! I’m a hvac contractor and licensed electrician so if you have any questions just ask.
Yessir. I likely have a few for sure. I have an electrician I'm working with on the meter base termination and wiring the shop out, we'll see if he works out. Are you in the area by chance? I will need help eventually speccing out the minisplit size and head quantity, likely two heads for 600sq ft, but tall ceiling 18ft.
@@HOUSEOFDULA I’m not but I can help spec things out. Splits are super simple to install.
Hey Mike, very nice piece of land! I love the trees and the pond. Do you need to airate the pond? Looks nice and clear. How deep is it ?
No, its clear from all the rain. Essentially the pond has 4-5ft or fresh water. Its about 10-12 ft in the center. It will get green as the summer get hotter, but I have yet to aerate it, but would be nice, once we get power out there.
